Follow the road and head down to the village & the sea a mere 10 km drive. Tasarte beach is old school south Gran Canaria and isn’t going anywhere. It’s a curvy drive but when you arrive, it’s like mass tourism never existed. Tasarte beach is a 700-metre strip of big but rounded pebbles although you get a strip of volcanic virgin sand beach at the east end at low tide. The calm sea, the amazing sunset and the easy going life will change you forever. Accommodated in Bla bla bla Guesthouse** (or similar).

Day 4 – PLAYA DE TASARTE

The Barranco de Tasarte is one of the island’s most pristine and the whole area around the beach is undeveloped apart from a few houses, a beachfront restaurant and lots of mango and papaya orchards on the valley floor. Taste village is about ten minutes’ walk from the beach and surrounded by nature with banana plants overhanging the road. Restaurant Oliva by the beach is something of a local legend; Beer is cheap, the paella and “Ropa Viejas de Pulpo” (chickpea stew with octopus) are excellent and the setting is laid back and low key. On calm days, the owner sometimes runs a boat service to small beaches and bays along the coast that are only accessible from the sea. Playa de Tasarte with its virgin beaches and nature will put a spell on you…..Bla bla bla Guesthouse** (or similar).

The village has many beautiful sights to offer such as the Concepción church originally from 1515, the fantastic botanic garden with more than 100 species growing. Walking along the promenade one will find some of the natural swimming pools or otherwise take a trip to the Valley of Death, this onetime necropolis is located in the Badlands of the Valle de Agaete. After 2 days here it’s time to head northeast along a coast which stands jagged crags of volcanic rock plunge into the Atlantic ocean creating spectacular cliff faces, while ravines jut back into the island’s interior. Make a stop at one of the most beautiful beaches on the island, Sardina, which is a small beach located in a semi-urban area, very frequented and characterised by its fine golden sand and it boasts a nice promenade, restaurants and bars. Further a virgin coastline with few houses and only small local hotels, one will pass what is known as the surfer`s paradise. End this fantastic and diverse tour around this magic island in Las Palmas cosmopolitan city, known as Gran Canaria’s Little Havana, which has more than 500 years of history including a charming old town full of Latin life.
