Day 1. MADRID (Aprox. 15 Km)

Arrival in Madrid Bajaras Airport. Transfer to centric 3*** hotel. One can follow the arrival with a fantastic panoramic tour of the city with the vibrant fashionable “Latin quarter” of Madrid. “Barrio de Salamanca” which is located in the north-eastern part of the old town, which later one can pass strolling over the idyllic squares of Santa Ana, Del Angel & of course Puerta del Sol – also known as “the heart of Spain”. Further, the tour should continue at the so called “Paseo del Arte” (The 3 world famous museums of Prado-Thyssen & Queen Sofia) where great artists as Velázquez, Goya, Picasso & Dali are among the many wonderful impressions. During this city tour there will be many special views of the majestic capital of Madrid among others passing The Royal Palace, Gran Via, Puerta de Alcala, the Retiro Park or what about the mythic football stadium of Real Madrid right on the historic Castellana Avenue. One is certainly in the capital of Spain. Accommodation in centric hotel Mayorazgo 4**** (or similar)

Day 2 – MADRID – TOLEDO – CORDOBA (Aprox. 75 + 340 = 415 Km)

Departure towards the fabulous Castilian town of Toledo, situated south of Madrid. On arrival one can make a short walk on the city wall. While entering the city by the “Puerta Nueva” de Bisgara” gate one will reach the main reference point for a visit in Toledo, the historic “Plaza Zocodover” dated back to the times of Felipe the 2. During this exiting visit one will be able to sample Toledo’s three historical religions – Christianity at its gothic Cathedral, the Jewish synagogue Transito & the Islamic Mosque de Christo de la Luz. A must – of course – is “El Greco” painter, sculptor and architect of the Spanish Renaissance, whose work can be seen throughout the town. Time some time strolling round the beautiful city before leaving for Cordova. On route one will sense the outstanding views of the Despeñaperros Mountains marking the border between Castile & Andalusia. On arrival accommodation in centric hotel Conquistador**** (or similar).

Day 3 – CORDOBA – SEVILLE (Aprox. 150 Km)

The breakfast will be enjoyed in the surroundings of a wonderful Cordobian hotel which is situated in the heart of the secretive & seductive city. Located on the banks of the Guadalquivir River & connected by the beautiful Roman Empire Augustus stone bridge. Once an Iberian and Roman city in the ancient times & then later the capital of an Islamic caliphate. Today,  the most extensive historical heritages in the world declared World Heritage Site by Unesco. Its white washed village like old town is a fantastic intriguing experience. Strolling through the streets, the impression of the Jewish quarter, the synagogue, the charming Andalusian patios, palaces, churches etc. is almost overwhelming. The visit to the Cathedral – the so called “Mosque” – is a mysterious event due to the mixture of religion & history. After the panoramic tour we’ll depart against Seville. On route one can also make a stop at the “Medina Azahara” ruins of the historical palace-city located 8 miles west of Cordoba in the foothills of the Sierra Morena Mountains. Later in the afternoon arrival in Seville. Accommodation in centric Hotel Derby*** (or similar).

Day 4 – SEVILLE (Aprox. 0 Km)

Tour the exotic city centre in a city which is an explosive cocktail of culture, history, sensuality, nightlife, and Latin temperament. One will be taken by the light, the blue sky, the red sun, and the white washed town. The sights seem to have no end: The sparkling Guadalquivir River running strait through the heart of the city, the shining Arabic Gold Tower, the Santa Maria Cathedral (the worlds 3. largest), the impressive Giralda Minaret tower, the Royal Alcazares Palace, the buildings from the 1928 America & 1992 Expo expositions, the beautiful Plaza de España etc. Further, the idyllic & fascinating Santa Cruz quarter is one of the world’s most astonishing experiences with its atmospheric lovely small squares the orange trees, Andalusian patios, exclusive shops and lively authentic people. In the afternoon one can e.g. choose a cruise on the Guadalquivir River or a visit to the famous Maestranza bull fight arena. After dinner a visit the small mythic Flamenco theatre “Los Gallos” placed on the spectacular Santa Cruz square to end a perfect day. Accommodation in centric Hotel Derby*** (or similar).

Day 5 – SEVILLE – JEREZ DE LA FRONTERA – MARBELLA (Aprox. 100 + 175 = 275 Km)

On this day one will go further south & reach the heartland of Sherry production. In the city of Jerez one can visit the fantastic Sherry bodega “Gonzalez Byass”. Its history runs back to 1835 which one will sense during this well presented trip round the historic bodega. After sampling the tasty Sherry the visit will continue in the Royal Andalusian School of Equestrian Art an institution devoted to conserving the ancestral abilities of the Andalusian horse, comparable to the Spanish Riding School in Vienna, Austria. The impressive performance and visit will bring you through all aspects of the classical traditions of Spanish baroque horsemanship, coach driving, blacksmithing, the care and breeding of horses, saddlery, and the manufacture and care of horse harness, topped up with the daring “dancing stallions”. Then on our way going east along the “bull route” which scenic majestic landscape runs inland passing through the nature reserve Alcornocales. One will be impressed by the almost unbelievable sight of huge bull herds running freely around enormous acres of land. Once you reach the Mediterranean coast we’ll get a good glimpse of the rock of Gibraltar, the strait and Africa. Accommodation in Marbella in centric Hotel El Rodeo*** (or similar).

Day 6 – MARBELLA – GRANADA (Aprox. 180 Km)

One will wake up in the picturesque sea side resort which old part has kept its Moorish, with white washed town houses, small orange squares, copplestoned streets, a beautiful antic town hall. Named by Queen Isabel (Mar Bella = Beautiful Sea) and haunted by aristocrats, royal family members, the jet set and a lot of other crazy people from all over the world for centuries. Take a moment to relax on the famous promenade and enjoy the colourful visitors in the always present sun. After lunch departure towards Granada. On the way good glimpses of the Mediterranean coastline, and the massive landscape behind Malaga. A magic moment is when the snow-covered Sierra Nevada Mountain range appears, surrounded by green olive plantations in the horizon. In the evening a tour can be arranged round the gypsy neighbourhood of Sacramonte named by the nearby abbey. Situated magically outside the old town overlooking the Alhambra Palace and Albaizin quarters. The gypsies lived/live in caves, and this evening it will be possible to experience an exciting live Flamenco performance in one of these. Accommodation in centric Hotel Navas*** (or similar).

Day 7 – GRANADA – MADRID (Aprox. 420 Km)

Start the visit to the city in the phenomenal Alhambra Palace with its inspiring views of the unbeatable snow-covered mountains. Alhambra, one of the most beautiful Arab palaces in the western world, actually consists of 3 palaces – The Nazari, the Royal Residence & Carlos the 5th – the fascinating Generalife Garden and finally the Alcazaba fortress. During this almost seductive visit one will sense the mysticism that water and vegetation wielded over the Islamic culture. Further, one can take a walk through the Albaizin, a district famous for the characteristic houses & “carmenes” villas. Later in the old town one will reach the renaissance Cathedral with the royal Chapel and the tombstones of the Catholic kings. Finally, one can wander through narrow streets of the old market area ending up on the lively Plaza Bib. After some shopping time, then on your way towards Madrid for the last evening. Accommodation in centric hotel Mayorazgo 4**** (or similar)

Day 8  – MADRID (Aprox. 15 Km)

Time for some shopping before departure to the airport.
