Itinerary

One starts the excursion in the village of Deià right next to the La Residencia hotel. To the left starts the so-called Vinyeta road which one will not have to leave until Cala Deià. At the end one will find a wooden dumper that overcomes a metal barrier. Once on the other side a car road is born where one continues.
The road offers a magnificent view of the valley. In this way it is only necessary to say that it crosses a couple of times the road that goes down to the cove so one will have to be very alert. Once at the end one will find on the left the bridge that goes up to Deià and one will arrive at the side of the sea in ten minutes by the same road and bordering the torrent Mayor. This roadstead has traditionally served as a shelter for fishing boats.

Meters before reaching the cove near a barrier starts the so-called Path of the Painters the coastal itinerary that connects the bay of Deià with the “Bens de Avall”. This section is bounded and has numerous bouncers. The path surrounds the cove and arrives next to a beautiful hut located at the end. A little further on one will face the white pebbles two rocks that emerge in the sea of beautiful profile. From this point to the Canyaret cove one will follow a quite marked trail. It should be noted that the route runs over old terraced spaces and some remains of orchards. Throughout the entire coastline one will find large fallen pine trees, which obviously makes the crossing difficult. Care should be taken in choosing the steps well since some tend to be somewhat exposed.

After passing a chalet with a curious gate one will reach the “Canyaret” popularly known as Llucalcari cove. Then the road advances to a small point with a slipway. Opposite the coast gets more and more crashed. For this reason the route climbs up some steps and crosses an old terraced field leaving the “Mider” slipway on the left and climbs over a hill. On the other side another terraced space now with almond trees. Then the route goes down crosses a torrent and climbs up some worn steps.

Later on the path again surpasses some olive groves one of which has a lime pot and also makes dizzying descents. One of the milestones that will indicate that one is near the cove, an imposing rock that is just ahead, which one will have to overcome on the right. Then one will find a barrack and the remains of a ruined house. The indications will take you to the cove. To avoid barriers it is worthwhile that one descends to the sea and cross it to the other extreme. Although here it is a section with some steps. Then by a concrete staircase one will leave the roads of the urbanization.

One goes up the hard asphalt to the road and connect with the path of Castelló which is born just before “Can Bleda”. Soon one will find the oratory still not rehabilitated and from here one will experience the magnificent architectural ensemble of “Can Prom” and “Son Mico” where we can enjoy an excellent fresh orange juice.

One continues the path until one is next to “Pi de la Ensaimada” where the route advances a few meters without slope until one reaches a rocky area. Then the road descends crosses a beautiful shade and traces the stretch through a crack. Then proceed next to the farm of “Can Miquelet” the houses of which are located on the right. On the other side one will see “Son Coll” just before one will find “Sa Font de ses Mentires”.

Soon one passes “Son Coll” a possession today formed by a group of houses among which the winery stands out and note this place is documented back to 13th century. After about ten minutes the road goes to the Ma-10 road which one follows to the left. Once past “Ca l’Abat” the route continues with the possession of “Son Bujosa” formerly equipped with a defense tower. Following the indications one will go back to the path of “Sa Vinyeta” through which one will climb again to Deià ending this magic route.
