Map of Route
The itinerary begins in the heart of Lloret e.g. at the Museu del Mar from where one will have to follow the seafront of until the Just Marlés Avenue where one will find the first some sign that mark the trail path Mediterranean (GR92) and its interior variant (GR92-2).
From this point one can now follow the signs of the route.
The route leaves it Lloret town centre using the Avinguda de les Alegries which one will have to continue along following the marks until these deviate you a few meters before reaching the hermitage of the Mare de God of Alegries.
The path now goes through forest track between fields of Cultivation and Mediterranean forest until one finds the waste water treatment plant in Lloret. From there take a stretch asphalted road until one reaches the forest track where one will run into a high number of elements and sculptures designed by modernist architects. Among these, you will find the Angel Monument, the Houses of the Angel, or the chapel of the oratory of Our Lady of Grace and the Cross of Term. A few meters further still passing through many items of interest one will see the well-known sanctuary of Sant Pere del Bosc currently a Hotel & SPA.
Past this the itinerary continues through a wooded area that will direct you very close to Santuario del Vilar from the eighteenth century (9) where one ca take a break due to the rest area including bar, toilets, etc. From here the next stretch that you will take you all the way to the Tordera river. During this stretch one will continue between Mediterranean forests but each now and again one will see how the agricultural landscape of the plain of the river is becoming more and more apparent and visual.
Once one reaches the river one will follow the course of the Tordera River gently descending towards the sea walking along the northern banks of the fascinating river. The beautiful landscape through which the track runs includes several areas of natural and cultural interest associated with the river such as the ponds in the Tordera district.
One have several possibilities during this part of the itinerary e.g. to visit the authentic town of Tordera, the village of Palafolls and after crossing the village start the ascent by the paths to the medieval Palafolls Castle.
Another option is to go all the way down to the wonderful small Tordera River delta which is located by the sea between the municipalities of Malgrat de Mar and Blanes. This also acts as a natural boundary between the provinces of Girona and Barcelona. The interesting delta is a space of high ecological value that houses a large number of habitats and animal and plant species typical of coastal aquatic environments.
One way or another one will be on her way towards Blanes on paths combining trails and tracks walking through a huge farmland area. The adventure continues like his as far as the outskirt of Blanes where bit by bit the agglomerations are takes over and one will find herself walking thorough the old village of Blanes.
A visit to Blanes is an experience of her own with a string of hiking possibilities within the town. After this long day a cool drink on the sea front or in the fishermen`s port before heading back to the hotel is properly a sound election !
