Gran Canarias is like tiny a continent in miniature and a fantastic destination where one will find plenty of experiences that will make every day special. The idyllic and lively cosmopolitan city Las Palmas de Gran Canaria embraces more than five centuries of history and the atmospheric and charming original old town Vegueta will thrill you. The area which gave birth to Las Palmas at the end of the 15th Century is an impressive enclave of traditional architecture, cobbled streets and old houses with wooden balconies and a great reason to leave the beach for a while. On a walk through the old town you’ll come across a range of styles from late-Gothic to renaissance and also plenty of places for a break at one of its outdoor cafés and restaurants.

Las Palmas

The capital of Gran Canaria is one of the few capital cities of Spain which has many many km of lovely golden beaches which can be used all year round. A stay here is the perfect combination and visitor should see the historic centre e.g. the area of Vegueta where some of the most important historical buildings have been standing for the past five hundred years. Buy traditional products from the island on 1 of the four markets or try some of the traditional dishes that make up the tasty Canary Islands gastronomy.

Maspalomas

Situated in south Gran Canaria its beautiful 5 km of golden sandy beaches are flanked by the Maspalomas Dunes Nature Reserve. This laid back resort has a lot of space and the amazing breath-taking Dunas de Maspalomas will provide you with plenty to see and do. The area of Faro de Maspalomas is considered to be one of the best for having an evening stroll and a quiet drink along the nice promenade which provides you with several bars, restaurants and several shopping centres to enjoy.

Playa del Cura

Situated on the southwest coast of Gran Canaria, just 3 km south of Puerto Rico, the small quiet holiday resort is built on the cliff sides lining the coast. Visit the small pretty cove beaches at the base of the cliffs both covered with dark volcanic sand and pebbles and strewn with sunbeds. The rocky coastline, and valley extending inland, provides opportunities for those keen on walking excursions. Find also a small commercial centre with a string of good bars, cafes, restaurants and shops.

Playa del Inglés

Situated in the south of Gran Canaria the resort is one of the largest and busiest on the island. The main attraction is the wide sandy beach that stretches from the Maspalomas dunes to San Agustin in the north. The seafront is lined by a lovely pedestrian promenade planted with lush gardens. The bustling town is made up of apartment blocks, hotels and shopping centres and especially the famous Yumbo centre has an immense choice.

Playa Meloneras

Playa Meloneras perfectly situated on the South coast of the Island is the most chic, sophisticated and up-market resort in Gran Canaria. The resort has recently been given a major facelift and wow it’s impressive as everything about this place has an air of luxury about it. It’s attractive, trendy, affluent and above all stylish, without being over the top. Crammed with designer shops, jewellers and high-end boutiques it’s a haven for retail therapy, not to mention fine-dining as exclusive restaurants, cafés and bars runs along the wonderful promenade offering cuisine from all over the world, right there to be enjoyed a beautiful sunset are endless. The beach itself is sandy and perfect for a spot of sun-bathing and taking a dip in the clear waters of the Atlantic and by night Meloneras really lights up. There are some great places to chill out with a glass of wine and watch the sun go down, or kick back and listen to some tasteful live music playing in the background.

Puerto Rico

The famous resort in the south of the island not surprisingly as it is well known for being one of the sunniest & less windy spots on the island. Situated at the mouth of a large valley this once small fishing port has today become a fantastic lively place to visit. It`s now smart marina and hotels and apartments built on terraces rising up along the steep slopes along the coastline. Deep-sea fishing is also renowned here and one can still see the fishermen setting out from the atmospheric port.

San Agustín

Going south from Las Palmas the resort is the 1st to reach and visitors overlooking the resort area from the top of the hill on arrival holidaymakers may be excited by the unexpected subtropical lushness of its gardens. The Beaches are calm and quiet and the perfect place to relax. One can find a wide choice of offers such as restaurants, bars, shops and entertainment venues as the Gran Canaria Casino and Scala Music Hall & Theatre.
