Calella de la Costa
Calella located north of Barcelona is the holiday capital of the Costa del Maresme and beautifully placed between the golden sandy beaches, the Mediterranean Sea and the Montnegre Mountains. The old part of this town is clustered around the historical church of Santa María and furthermore its numerous pedestrian streets are ideal for strolling around the town centre and the more than 5 km long seafront promenade. Malgrat de Mar
Is situated just 60 km north of Barcelona and the cosy laid back sea side village has more than 4.5 km of spacious white sand beaches. One can find peace and quiet for walks and birdwatching in natural spaces such as the Tordera river delta & the town is also surrounded by wilderness areas that are perfect for hiking or cycling. The journey from the railway station in Monistrol de Montserrat to the monastery covers 5 kilometres and takes 15 minutes with departures every 20 minutes. One can also access Montserrat monastery area with the Montserrat’s cable car (Aeri) which entered into service in 1930 and also the quickest way to reach the sanctuary form the river area. At an average speed of 5 metres per second the cable car covers the 1,350-metre journey comfortably. During the journey passengers can have splendid views of the beautiful scenery, and glimpse part of the magnificent Monumental Rosary. Cable cars depart every 15 minute.
Pineda de Mar
Pineda de Mar is a charming seaside resort situated north of Barcelona on the Costa Maresme, 45 km from Gerona Airport, just south of the Costa Brava. It is a popular destination due to its long golden sandy beach, good selection of restaurants and bars, surrounded by the beautiful Montenegre Nature Reserve. The town is very pleasant and relaxed with lots of squares and gardens. There is a very good selection of shops, boutiques, bars and restaurants & the resort is very well equipped and ideal for families.
Santa Susanna is an laid-back attractive resort situated on the Costa Maresme just south of Costa Brava some 60 Km north of Barcelona. Set between the wonderful sandy beaches, the glittering Mediterranean Sea and the mountainous wooded backdrop of the Massif Montenegre.
